The Certification application process begins based on the posted conferral date on the official transcript. It is not processed on the date your certification application was uploaded and received.

Requirements for Educational Services & Administrative Certificates
TCNJ’s Certification Office reviews all candidates’ certification materials to ensure they are complete. Our office uses this information to nominate students for New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) licensure. All documents must be complete and submitted at the same time.
Please submit all documents below using the TCNJ Certification Online Application:
- Application for NJ Certification
- Test scores – applicable for Principal candidates
- Record of Experience from Employer – applicable for Supervisor and Principal candidates
- HIB documentation – applicable for School Counseling and Student Assistance Coordinator
Submit the documents via the TCNJ Certification Online Application. Once your application is submitted, you will receive an email verification; keep it for future reference.
Timeline and Notes
Only complete the online application after program completion or degree conferral dates have been posted on your PAWS account and official transcript and you have all your materials gathered. The Certification application process takes roughly 1-2 weeks.
